Sigenergy Residential Case: Embracing Green Energy in a Historic UK Castle

In the summer, the Cornish coast of the UK is a picture of clear blue skies and lush greenery. Nestled at the foot of a hill, a centuries-old castle turned nursing home stands quietly, bathed in sunlight. Thanks to the SigenStor, Sigenergy’s Home Energy Storage Solution, this historic building is now embracing a new era of green energy.

Unlike typical residential scenarios, the nursing home is equipped with numerous medical devices, making a stable and reliable power supply critical for its operation. To ensure a comfortable living environment for the residents, high-energy-consuming appliances such as air conditioners, humidifiers, and water heating systems need to operate continuously. The introduction of Sigenergy’s integrated energy storage system has met the nursing home's growing energy needs effectively.

"Since we adopted the SigenStor, our power supply has become much more stable," said the nursing home administrator, noting that the safety features of Sigenergy's energy system left a lasting impression.

SigenStor sets new industry standards for battery safety. It incorporates five layers of protection: advanced temperature sensors, internal fire extinguishers, aerogel-insulated pads, decompression valves, and high-temperature-resistant insulated pads, elevating battery system safety to new heights. With an IP66 protection rating, it is resistant to rain, snow, and dust, suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations. The system includes built-in heating pads to ensure battery operation in low temperatures, capable of functioning reliably in environments ranging from -20°C to 55°C, effectively handling extreme climates. It also supports rapid on-grid and off-grid switching, providing a stable power supply during outages.

Notably, unlike traditional solar solutions that mainly use wall-mounted inverters, the SigenStor system can be installed on the ground, preserving the structural integrity of the historic castle.

"We understand the importance of protecting every brick and stone of this castle," said a Sigenergy installation manager. "During installation, we fully considered the unique requirements of this historic building to ensure that its original structure remains unaffected." The Sigenergy system combines solar inverters, battery pack, EVDC charging module (optional), an Energy Management System (EMS), and a Power Conversion System (PCS) into a single unit, making it the world’s first 5-in-1 solution for solar, storage, and charging.

Touching the ancient stones of the castle while embracing green energy is a profound experience. So far, Sigenergy products have been deployed in nearly 50 countries worldwide. Looking forward, Sigenergy remains committed to driving innovation and sustainable development in the solar storage industry, accelerating the adoption of solar storage products, and contributing to global energy transition efforts.
